~~The Art of Klew~~ Award Winning Photography

	Lewis R. Rowe's work history is one that truly exposé's him as the preverbal "Jack of all trades"... Lewis rose to the top in each of his occupations... He has held a California license in the following: Senior Psychiatric Technician, Real Estate Salesman, Cosmetologist, SEC Stock Salesman, Insurance Salesman, plus he designed and sold business forms for the Standard Register printing company... Lewis retired from the Atascadero State Hospital for the criminally insane in 1996... He and his wife Carol reside in the small mission town of San Miguel, California and both are involved with the community... Carol wrote and published The Monday Paper, a weekly newspaper devoted to the news and events of the town... Lewis is on the Board of Directors of the San Miguel Community Services District, which has responsibility for Water, Sewer, Lighting, and Fire Departments in San Miguel...After several years of retirement, his wife Carol ordered him out of the garden because it could not take any more of Louiescissorhands Virgo pruning...
Lewis the photographer evolved out of his need to be creative... At the urging of family and friends he entered the 2001 California Mid-State Fair's Photography Contest... He was awarded a First and Third place for his two entries... Sparked by this happening, Lew began to take pictures of what he liked... He mostly shoots snapshot pictures because to him it is all about the image... " I have a short attention span, I don't like to fiddle around with lights and setup tripods," explains Lew... "I need to get the image quick, I guess I could say, it's all about the vibe I get"... Lew came to realize that as a photographer you can take photo's where ever you are... It opened his eyes to see the detail in the world and then capture it as he sees it on film... Since July '01, his eclectic style has been awarded 12 first, 6 second, 3 third place awards at photography contest's throughout California... The pictures have also been recognized 7 times as Best of Class in architectural, people, still life, seascapes, barn's, trees, and sunset/sunrise categories...
	Lew made the cut at this year's L.A. County Fair... The judges chose 417 out of 3,217 photographs entered in the competition to be judged and displayed during the Fair...if his images bring some joy to somebody, somewhere, that makes Lew happy... The Art of Klew.com is his way to share his artistic vision... He created his web-page so folk's can have an opportunity to view his work... Lew realizes that art forces a dialog between your intellect and your emotions... Lew wants the web-site to be more than just his work, but also other peoples work...so he will, at times, via e-mail, let you know of links to other artist's work...The black hat photo on this page was taken by photographer Matt Reed and digitally enhanced by artist George Caroll.
